NEIWPCC is a regional commission that helps the states of the Northeast preserve and advance water quality. We engage and convene water quality professionals and other interested parties from New England and New York to collaborate on water, wastewater, and environmental science challenges across shared regions, ecosystems, and areas of expertise.
Dr. Friesner serves as the program director for the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment (WYSE) since its inception in 2010 at George Mason University.
George Mason University along with distinguished partners the National Geographic Society and the National Zoo is proud to host WYSE. Each summer, WYSE welcomes High School National Youth Delegates from all over the country.
Richard is a proud member of his local community (Chelmsford, MA). Together with his wife Bethany, they have two delightful boys. Richard is a very active Cub Scout and Scouts BSA leader, volunteers with various local environmental organizations, and is an avid runner.
Previously, Richard ran for elected office in Fredericksburg, VA and was chair of the city's Planning Commission.
